Individual Psychotherapy

I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in both California and New Mexico. I see clients online, as well as in-person in my office in Santa Fe.

In my work, I strive to follow clients’ unfolding process and facilitate organismic shifts toward wholeness and coherence. For a fuller description of how I see the psychotherapy process, please see my practice page [link]:

Personal Process Consultation

What is Personal Process Consultation?
Personal Process Consultation is a dialogical encounter that is intended to help make meaning of your experience. It is based in a phenomenological approach that presupposes the inherent validity of your subjective expression and seeks to facilitate deepening awareness by a process of shared inquiry. Rather than assume a “one-up” expert position, the facilitator offers a mirroring presence.

How is Personal Process Consultation different from psychotherapy?

While there is some overlap in the interpersonal framework between Personal Process Consultation and some forms of psychotherapy, the intention of each is different. Personal Process Consultation is not a treatment for mental health. Therefore, while subjective experiences of distress are not ignored, they are not framed as symptoms of mental diagnoses.
Psychotherapy is licensed profession and is often reimbursable by medical insurance.
Personal Process Consultation is not intended to replace psychotherapy when that is called for.

Clinical Consultation

I offer clinical consultation for licensed clinicians who would like to discuss their work. Consultation can include discussing theory, case review, or both. I can also consult with students who would like to consolidate their learning, but I am not currently affiliated with any academic or training institutions, so do not offer supervision for certification or licensure. Training

I offer two trainings on a contract basis:

  • Integrative Experiential Psychotherapy is a synthesis of the various trainings I have studied. It is grounded in a skill-based approach to learning counseling and psychotherapy. It is a meta-framework that can be applied to the integration of many theoretical approaches and provides a language to understand the relationships between them.
  • Cultivating Therapeutic Presence assumes that the therapist’s presence is a central factor in effective psychotherapy and supersedes the relevance of theory, technique, or clinical intervention. Therefore, this training is focused on practices to cultivate optimal therapist states.

Training can be provided online or in-person in either triad or “fishbowl” formats.
